You know ebay is not in mine or anyone else's opinion, as to whether or not it is the first line of success when it comes to creating a solid foundation of one time and repeat buyers for life for your online business!
Why I hear you say?
Because it's not an opinion of any kind, it's fact, eBay offers the greatest percentage of buying traffic to anyone's products on the Internet, and it only stands to reason to use this platform first to create a customer database from!
However, it's not as cut and dried as that, you still need to research and select the right niche markets on the eBay platform, that cater as a supply to the demand of millions of people worldwide!
It's the only way to build a business that has to grow and be sustained by a system of repeat buyers.
Furthermore, one of the niche markets on eBay that does this to perfection is the Information product's niche, think about it information itself is the very axis the Internet turns on, so all you need to do is supply the right information that is the knowledge required as a demand by the multitude. It's common sense really isn't it!
That's what success really, is just plain old-fashioned common sense.
Now, a few years ago people were creating fairly massive eBay businesses within this niche. As a matter of fact they were doing so on autopilot, because people would go to their eBay store find the right information that they were of course willing to pay the e-book then receive an automated email with a download link. A simple purchase made, and a product sent immediately without the seller having to lift a finger, happy days!
However, a storm was brewing on the horizon. You see these sellers weren't just enjoying the profits on autopilot, but they were also quietly racking up a large positive feedback score in the process, which in turn brought in even more profits because buyers could see the massive trust factor in the seller's high feedback score of repeat past buyers.
You see eBay didn't like the fact, that sellers were actually abusing their platform by building a large positive feedback score unethically, so what did they do?
They simply banned the immediate digital download of Information products, and this sudden change in policy actually destroyed quite a few Information product niche businesses overnight, yes the proverbial eggs in one basket. It was seen as doom and gloom!
However, one entrepreneur could clearly see an opening for success in this mess. That's right he could see his Phoenix rising from the ashes, so who was this guy?
He was a massively successful UK Internet marketer by the name of Dave Nicholson. This guy simply didn't panic. He sat back and looked at an alternative that in his mind clearly stood out, and that was to send his information products in physical format, in other words, all the purchased information burned to disc and sent to the customer via a chosen postal system!
Dave realized that a physical version of the product held far more value to the customer than a downloaded format, because the buyer felt they had something tangible to show for the sale, and what this in turn did is generate repeat sales from most first-time buyers regularly whilst still building a steady powerful trust building positive feedback score, only this time within eBay's guidelines!
